PSAT Wednesday

Wednesday 10/14/09, Lehman High School administered the PSAT to freshman, sophomore, and junior students. While I have heard some good and bad things about the days activities, the day went decidedly well all things considered. What improvements could be made on the administration of these exams from your perspective, we at 19stepsahead would like to know?

Secondly I have heard rumblings that the long sought Skedula software program is back in at least limited use for us at Lehman High School. For those of you who don't know, Skedula is a highly functional program mask which communicates with system wide software like HSST, and ATS so that we don't have to. How do we feel about this?

Teachers should all have access to our systems ARIS data. While not quite as user friendly as Skedula, much of the pertinent student information is available there. What information do teachers feel they need access to that is not available on ARIS? Do we all feel that we have been adequately trained on the use of this site, is a staff development necessary?

Have you been on ARIS lately? Because if you have you will see that the class lists are NOT up to date??? I have no idea why not but my class list and the ARIS class list do not match?

Personally, I like to see the last report card for our older students. I like looking at the antedotes, I like to email a counselor, I like looking at a room grid sometimes to see if a room is available, etc.,. Last year I had access to Skedula and used it all the time. I know a lot of teachers and counselors that like Skedula, isn't that reason enough for us to make it available?

I'm not from Lehman HS, but the ARIS is a MESS! The data is incorrect. $80 million on a system that is not needed and has too many problems.

If you are a teacher, I would recommend using skedula.com instead of the local version. It's much more teacher orientated and blows ARIS out of the water.
